Renovation Step 1 - The New Standard of Floor Plans

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you could travel 200 years to the past? I’ll give you a second to think about it, but please keep reading, this has more to do with facts than a delusional statement. Let us tell you more about our floor plans of the future.

Check It Out: Renovation Step 1

Ok, so you know the lottery numbers, you know what the future holds and you can take great advantage of it. If you’re a good person you would probably try to stop a war, I know.

But hey! Great lesson so far huh? Everything that you can possibly think about (as an advantage of being a time traveler) has to do with the same thing: KNOWING IN ADVANCE.

Bingo! You don’t need to travel 200 years to the past, you can start today.

After countless experiences, errors, sweet and sour moments and loads of observation we isolated the first moment when a situation or project turns from something good into something bad.

Every renovation and new build project starts as a “good” project. I haven’t met ANYONE that isn’t excited to create something better for the future! A beautiful space, a corner where you can read a book or work in the mornings, a nice master bathroom with every perk that you love, you name it. At this point, everything is dreams and hopes.

So when does this dream start falling apart? Before you answer this let me advise: No, it is not the money, and no, it is not the builder’s or designer’s fault. The simple answer is: in the first moment that we don’t know. That is the moment where we release the leashes of our dreams and hand them to someone else that “knows better”.

Sure, there are professionals who know better (and not all of them), but that does not mean that the dream holder should stop knowing.

There’s a statement from a philosopher that I deeply admire that states the truth is always simple. This truth proves itself. When we are good at or know something we can do it without thinking about it, and it flows without concern.

This simplicity in combination with knowing in advance has turned, after countless hours of work, into our newest service: Renovation Step 1.

Imagine if you, and everyone involved in a project could understand every bit of it. Wouldn't the conversations be different? Wouldn’t the budgets be less shocking? Wouldn’t everyone take a confident first step into a desirable project?

We’ve heard (more than we like to admit) that no renovation project goes smoothly, but we wanted to know why.

Renovation Step 1 is knowing in advance (which is ultimately the true purpose of design) and breaking down every bit of a project in a way that a kid could understand it, from floor areas, types and dimensions, to number and kind of lightbulbs in a project. It would be expected that any professional knows this, but the fact that the same project can receive construction quotes with a variation of 100% (50k vs 100k) indicates that there’s something horribly wrong. This wrongness is called assumption, but whose assumption is right? The most experienced contractor or the newest one? (None).

I would love to share with you every detail of this. And the beautiful part? It can be used by the contractor, designer, client, floor supplier. When we say anyone, we mean everyone.

RS-1 PLANS
Renovation Step-1 is a white labeled service for anyone in the business of Commercial or Residential Design, Renovation or Construction. RS-1 is a tool that allows everyone in a renovation project to be on the same page on day one.

I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that 9 out of 10 renovation projects never start because we’re too afraid to not know or understand our floor plans and waste all of our money. A lot of HGTV watchers, very little ones with a house that cool. Interesting.

Reach out to us if you want to know in advance. We have the lottery numbers.
